USE OF SATELLITE IMAGES, GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM AND GEGORAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM
SATELLITE IMAGES
We must not forget that satellite images are achieved by artificial satellites that register and send electric impulses through a series of devices that are interpreted and converted to images by computers.
GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM
Global Positioning Systems are electronic devices that capture satellite signals to determine the geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) of a point on Earth's surface.
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Geographic Information systems are computer programs designed to capture, store and process georeference information, that is, numeric data that represents each component of the geographic space, natural, social, historic, economic, political, cultural or environemntal, linked to a system of geographic coordinates.
